Collections of reports from ICTY trials of the former commander of the Bosnian Serb Army Ratko Mladić, and of the three Croatian generals, Ante Gotovina, Ivan Čermak, and Mladen Markač make the content of new publications in the SENSE's PDF edition "The Hague Notebooks".
Each of the notebooks contains reports on a selected trial before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in the form they were written while the proceedings were ongoing. These reports quote statements from victims and witnesses, insiders, forensic and other experts, and reference documents introduced into the evidence material.
Notebooks provide a clear and concise insight into the entire legal process of ICTY cases through chronologically arranged SENSE reports - from the pre-trial phase, through the presentation of evidence, to the trial and appeal judgements.
During almost 20 years of reporting on the work of the ICTY SENSE has compiled an extensive archive of reports from all trials, and now, with the publication of The Hague Notebooks, aims to systematize these reports by individual cases.
In such a condensed and chronologically arranged format, SENSE reports serve as a user guide for anyone interested to navigate through the archives and further research on legal and factual material collected by the ICTY on the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia during the 1990s.
Previously published were two notebooks - from the trials of General Zdravko Tolimir, Assistant Commander of the Main Staff of the Army of Republika Srpska for Security and Intelligence Affairs, and Naser Orić, former commander of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Srebrenica.
